Lauderdale Marine Center

Perhaps, one of my favorite projects ever. Simply because, everyone said it couldn’t be done. This is Lauderdale Marine Center in Fort Lauderdale, off the South Fork of the New River.
 

It was a derelict old marina, when a prominent heart surgeon from Baltimore approached me with the dream of expanding it into a World Class Mega Yacht Marina and Mega Yacht Construction Marina. This was the prototypical urban renewal project!
 

Since it was tucked into a single-family neighborhood, all the politicians told me it couldn’t be done! “Hold my beer” Everyone told me, you will fail on this project!
 

I took the project, because it was a visionary project and I so adored my Clients vision! It took me two years of working with the neighborhood to get to YES.
 

So, now for the rest of the story. That famous heart surgeon from Baltimore loved yachting and made his money creating a new heart valve that made him a very wealthy man. In the ultimate irony, I now have the heart valve he created in my heart!
